Megat's 1st Review in 2011

Megat sitting pretty at home...
after the vet visit...

I know I said the news about Megat would be in our main blog Cat Tales. But I thought I should at least update this blog as this one belongs to Megat.
We have not changed our protocols and Megat is still on his course of sang hwang supposity, liquid extract and colloidal silver. He takes his sang hwang with a little mashed papaya and he is still in remission for 1 yr and 5 months already. I am confident that he would be able to go on for some time yet on this protocol.
Today he was given some laxatone for his hairballs but I know I cannot give him laxatone for an extended period so I will only give this to him for 2 weeks to see how he is. I will be getting some hairball remedies from petsalive. He is also on Liver and Immunity Support as well as KC Defense from there. I have since stopped the Milk Thistle extract as he hates it like the plague and I thought the capsules for Liver and Immunity Support should work just as well.
Hie eyes are a little cloudy, which is only to be expected from a 15 year old kitty. We used to be able to ensure that he has clear eyes with the sang hwang but I guess his age and consition do not allow for it. Dr L said he should still be able to see but not as clearly.
But all in all, the review went very well for my cat Megat.

Hi, I am giving my dog sanh hwang liquid as well. He has a tumor in his left adrenal gland. He hates the liquid extract, whether in syringe or with mashed papaya/pumpkin. how many times a day do you give your megat the liquid extract in a week (i believe it's 2ml per feed right)? Not only he hates it but he coughs badly after the feed as well as the following days. he stops coughing when i stop feeding the liquid extract. How about the suppository? does it function the same way or as powerful as the liquid extract? Please advise. Thanks San.

dear dog owner
I give megat 0.8 ml as his extract is 65L. It seems its of greater strength. Now that he is in remission I give him only once a day but before, when he had the lymphoma, he had it 2ml 2 times a day 24/7. The suppository is better than the liquid extract as it melts directly into his system. It would not get destroyed or weakened by the stomach acids. i am sorry your dog doesn't take to papaya and pumpkin. It seems that this works for cats rather well.
I dunno if you can put it an a capsule and then give it to your dog in a pill pocket. I think you can get capsules made of gelatine. I read online that dogs seem to take to pill pockets rather well and they are made of chicken etc. You can get them online. I got my pill pockets from Only Natural Pet Store at http://www.onlynaturalpet.com/product_cart.aspx
It can be a little messy though!

Our Labrador took 1/2 bottle of SH twice daily for his cancer, we syringed into side of dog's mouth fairly easily & yes, dog hated it. Sang Hwang comes in SH250 and SH400capsules. Our dog took SHcapsules wrapped in durian or Cow brand cheese cubes. It was hard to keep dog from passing suppository out-try holding its tail down for even 1min ;) Dog kept running off & passing suppository out in secs.

I have now come up with giving megat his meds before I give Toro. Then someone will hold him until I give Toro all the meds. This takes about 30 minutes. Sometimes when Megat gets his meds after Toro, I will put him on my chest and we both lie down together. He likes this much better and it will take up some more time, usually 20 minutes but after that he gets dinner and of course would forget to go to the letter bin :) Of course this does not work successfully all the time. Sometimes bin comes before dinner!

Can you tell me what the 16 mushroom supplement you use for Megat is and where you buy it? Thank you.
